MSF Family Story – a family’s experience of MSF

Genie loves bug hunting, nature and spending time with her pets (snake, budgies and tortoise). She also loves art, meeting up with friends, bike riding and watching her tablet (like most teenagers!).

Genie has Atypical Landau Kleffner Syndrome (LKS) and Autism. LKS is a rare form of epilepsy which affects language and causes behaviour problems.

Genie’s Mum, Bev says: “Malvern Special Families is an amazing group of people who work tirelessly to provide an ever changing programme of activities from days out, to cooking and just chilling.

My daughter loves going to club, meeting her friends and having fun and without noticing she has gained social skills and confidence.

For me there is time to catch up on chores, meet mates or chill whilst knowing that my child is safe and well cared for by a professional caring team.”

When asked about Malvern Special Families Genie said: “club is good”.

Malvern Special Families provides excellent clubs and play schemes for children with disabilities in ‘out of school’ hours in Malvern and Worcester. MSF provides excellent social opportunities for children and young people with special needs, enabling them to try new activities, make friends and have lots of fun.
