Any child between the ages of 5 and 18 may access our clubs if they have any kind of disability or special need. Both children who are referred and not referred can use our clubs. We cater for a wide spectrum of needs.
You do not have to live in Worcestershire to access our clubs which take place in Malvern and Worcester.
We ask families to register with us so that we can understand their needs and the needs of their children in order to provide the best possible service for them and ask Parents and carers to co-operate with us according to the Parent & Carer Contract
We are able to offer one Saturday club place per month per child and two sessions per week in the school holidays (apart from Christmas holidays). Find out more about what we offer.
Many of the children and young people who come to our clubs and play schemes cannot access mainstream provision, so Malvern Special Families is very special to them, offering a fun filled time, friendship and the opportunity to try out many new activities. For families and carers, our clubs and play schemes offer a short break from caring for their child, which can often be very demanding and exhausting, knowing that they are being cared for by our dedicated and enthusiastic staff.
The children and young people who come to our clubs and their families are special to us and we are proud to be able to contribute positively to their lives. Millie, mother of Aaron, shares a little of their story with us here.
Tell us a bit about Aaron and what he’s like:
Aaron is a very happy and loving little boy with complex needs. He is full of energy and is on the go from the minute he wakes up, because of his difficulties he has no sense of danger and needs adult care 24/7. He loves adult interaction and he loves to be in the company of other children.
What does Malvern Special Families mean to you?
MSF has been a godsend for us. Caring for Aaron can be very exhausting and stressful , however when Aaron attends MSF, it gives me a chance to recharge my batteries. Also I can spend some quality time with my daughter and just get some normal day to day jobs done.
What does Malvern Special Families mean to Aaron?
Aaron has been attending MSF for the past five years and he has enjoyed each and every session. He has the opportunity to interact with adults and other children. He enjoys all the the activities that are available, there are lots of different things for him to do and all his needs are so well met. He always comes back a happy and content boy.
Is there anything else you want to say about Malvern Special Families?
MSF has contributed so much to Aaron’s success and has been a key factor to his progress and development to which we will always be grateful.
We are so lucky to be supported by MSF, the staff are brilliant and the sessions are so fantastically run.
