A bit of time, creativity and using the influence of your personal networks you can multiply what you contribute by organising a fundraising event or activity. In the past, friends of MSF have organised jumble sales, fun-runs, drawing competitions, an open gardens event, and even a charity auction, in aid of Malvern Special Families. If you have an idea that you would like to bring to reality, we would love to hear from you and talk it through and we can offer you support and advice to help get your idea off the ground.
Set yourself a challenge and get your friends involved. However, big or small the challenge, whether sporty or crafty, whether in a group or on your own, sponsored events are a great way to raise money for us whilst achieving some of your personal goals. From dog-walking, to dragon boat racing, to completing the 3 Peaks Challenge, friends of MSF raised over £4,000 last year through sponsored events.
Get in touch with us if you are considering doing or setting up a sponsored event and we can help you promote it and offer support.
You may be able to offer your expertise and experience as an asset to the charity by joining the board of trustees. The trustees govern the charity and make decisions about finances, the business direction and the management of the charity. We have a trustees application pack which you can download, or if you would like to discuss the role of trustee you can call the office and we can arrange a conversation with Chair of Trustees, Helen Attree.
We take volunteers as well as paid staff on to our bank Play Work team through our safer recruitment procedures. To volunteer at our clubs you will need to be over 18 and be able to demonstrate your suitability for and commitment to working with children with disabilities.
